Let’s be real – everyone tries to give out advice of some kind or another. That doesn’t mean it’s always good advice. When you’re starting a new career, or are at a crossroads with where you want to go with your career, or you just feel like you’re in a slump, this is when the advice comes the most. With so many different types of advice, it’s hard to know what is always the most beneficial, and what is not. Here at SNTF, we’ve made it easy for you. We’ve compiled a list of the best career advice you could ever receive.

Go Big or Go Home
No goal is too big. If you are afraid of failing, leave the fear behind you and go big or go home. Put your all in everything you do, no matter how menial it may seem. If you give your best and your hardest, you will be rewarded.

Trust Your Gut
That feeling deep inside, whether its excitement, anxiety, fear, or something unsettling, your gut always knows. If you’re unsure about a path to take, trust your instincts. Go with what feels right for you. At the end of the day, you are the one who will make and live with your choices, so follow your intuition and gut feelings.

Pursue Your Passions
No matter what your passion may be, always pursue them. If you don’t you may find yourself unhappy in your career path, wishing that you’d made different choices when you were younger. If you want to pursue a far-fetched dream, make it a realistic goal and go for it.

Be Kind
No matter what career path you may lead, there is always an element of cut-throat competition. Whether it be applying for a position, working towards a promotion, or making that deal. No matter where the pressure may come from, and who you may be competing against, it never hurts to be kind. If you do everything with a smile on your face and help others along the way, you’ll get noticed for all the right reasons. You never know, that person you beat, or who may have beaten you, maybe a connection you need down the road.

Everything Happens for a Reason
As cliché as it may sound, it’s true. Thinking and believing that everything happens for a reason is more than just advice, it’s a way of life. If you fail, don’t get hung up on it. That plan wasn’t meant to happen and you will succeed down the line. Don’t get hung up on the little things, put in the work, and go with the flow.
