Call it a coincidence, but Style Nine to Five’s first-ever Fashion Career Workshop coincided with the same week as the eight-year anniversary of the launch of Style Nine to Five. Not to toot our own horn or anything, but our first workshop was a huge success.
All attendees arrived ready to learn and eager to ask the questions, excited to learn how to get closer to landing the fashion job of their dreams. Style Nine to Five founder, Christie Lohr greeted students with delicious donuts from Cartems and Miriam Alden, founder of Brunette the Label, provided adorable mugs for everyone to take home to celebrate the workshop.
Once the workshop kicked into high gear, Christie took the group of bright-eyed and fashion-forward attendees through the do’s and don’ts of cover letter and resume writing, and even shared her personal insight into how to stand out of applicants.
With one-on-one guidance, everyone was able to craft their resumes and cover letters to the exact job they wanted, and Christie provided each student with the contacts they needed to reach out to land the job. Not only were the attendees able to make the perfect resume, but they were also given tips to help them succeed in the fashion industry.
The feedback from the group of students has been outstanding. They loved the information they were given to further themselves in the industry, as well as making life-long connections with Christie.
For anyone trying to make their way into the fashion industry, this workshop is everything you need. Make sure you don’t miss out on our next one for great insight into the fashion industry, one-on-one time with Christie, and of course, coffee and donuts.
