Black pumps. Pink kitten heels. And some days…flats. Let’s face it; office appropriate shoes can be boring. Work is not the place for stilettos or platforms, but you don’t have to stick with the ordinary either! To help you enter the season with your best-dressed heel forward, we’ve rounded up five pairs of office-appropriate heels with a bit of pizazz.
A New Take on the Penny Loafer
I myself am a big fan of penny loafers, but sometimes they’re just a bit too bland. Jazz up this classic look by opting for a pair of loafers-turned-slingbacks! They’re practical and comfortable and will leave you feeling like the queen of the boardroom.
Wear with: Trouser pants
Put a Bow On It
Bows on shoes are nothing new, but there are ways to turn it from boring to elegant. Instead of a traditional bow placed on the toe, how about these lovely, feminine bows on the back? People tend to look at the ground when they walk anyway — give the folks behind you something to look at.
Wear with: If your workplace is casual a pair of dark denim jeans, otherwise a skirt or a dress
Add A Little Bling
Unless you’re heading to a nightclub or spending the evening out on the town, glitter and jewels usually don’t belong on your shoes. Usually. On these Lilianas, the quilted pattern and minimal, finely placed jewels add class rather than take it away, not to mention the neutral hue is perfect for the office and will go with just about everything.
Wear with: Pretty much anything!
Shape It Up
Most women are hiding their inner rebel (especially in the workplace), and these shoes seem to cater to that part of women everywhere. Since metallic spikes aren’t exactly work-friendly, a leather split-front will have to do. Combined with a metallic toe, you can allow your younger self to shine through, and keep your boss happy at the same time.
Wear with: Trouser pants, skirt, or a wrap dress
Combine Classics
By far my favourite, these Calvin Kleins are a cross between a bootie and a pump. With leather accents, metallic heel, and a suede body, it’s the perfect blend of edge and class that will surely turn heads.
Wear with: Trouser pants and jeans
