It might only be April, but fashionistas have already taken to the streets to show off 2017’s most covetable fashion trends. And while there are plenty of trends still taking off; we’ve been following our favourite bloggers, stylists and fashionistas closely to round up this year’s biggest trends (so far).

From vintage ‘mom’ jeans to embroidered bomber jackets, these are the trends that the fashion world just can’t get enough of.

1. Bomber Jacket

The Bomber Jacket

First and foremost, the bomber jacket has been a highly covetable trend for the past year, and this year we’re thrilled to see it stick around. The bomber jacket is the easily the new denim jacket and fashion’s biggest names can be seen rocking this trend from day to night. We can’t get enough of this Gucci embroidered bomber, as it can easily be your go-to attire when you’re running your errands or going for brunch with the girls. When rocking a bomber this season, make sure to pair it with a logo tee and a pair of high-waisted mom jeans for the ultimate model off duty look. And remember, colours that mesh well together, stay together.

2. Wide Leg Trousers

Wide-Leg Trousers

While the airy wide pant leg was undeniably cool in the winter when worn with a pair of Vans skate shoes and a black turtleneck, this style of pants are definitely more spring approved. If one thing’s for certain, stripes are a huge trend this year and will pair perfectly with a tucked in blouse with statement sleeves, and will leave you stepping into spring in the right direction.

3.Statement Heels

The Updated Statement Heel

From catwalks to the real life, updated takes on classic heels have been all the rage. We’re currently eyeing up a pair of these 90’s throwback heels, which are currently the talk of the season to fashion lovers everywhere. Pair these babies with a distressed hem jean, with a pair of fishnets underneath and an oversized bomber for a fashion blogger-approved look.

4. Distressed Denim

Denim Wonder

Can we just take a second to appreciate our current favourite denim trend this year — the ‘mom’ jean. While denim trends never really seem to last long, this is one trend we can definitely get behind. The mom jean

gives off a cool and classic with a slight vintage vibe, and when styled accordingly they are perfect for everyday wear. Try pairing them with a graphic tee or with a tucked in button up blouse.

5. Cross-body bag

The Updated Cross-Body Bag

Gone are the days of seeing women carrying over-sized totes and purses and instead we’ve been seeing the fashion world’s most notable sporting more delicate and smaller cross-body bags. From strong shapes to capacious handles, this season’s most covetable bag is anything but ordinary. We can’t get enough of this leather satchel from Ted Baker as it’s a must-have for the working woman on the go.  While the strap and handle are convenient, the pearl and crystal embellishment on the buckle seriously elevates this otherwise minimal number.

6. Striped Blouse

Striped Blouse

From layered over turtlenecks to worn solo off the shoulder to statement bell sleeves, striped blouses of all cuts and sizes have been all the rage this year and still are moving into spring. The key to this trend is the more deconstructed the better.

7. Flat Mules

Flat Mules

This year has certainly seen the rise of the flat mule trend. The fun thing about these shoes is that they come in all heights and textures, and they ultra chic on everyone. We recommend opting for a more colourful pair, as they will make your ever day outfits feel instantly luxe.
