Description

Leah Alexandra Jewelry is seeking a full-time Retail Assistant Manager to join our Vancouver team! Applicants are expected to have experience managing small teams of 2 - 4 people. Additionally, they are expected to step in with managerial tasks when the Store Manager is unavailable. As an assistant manager, you will be responsible for continuously motivating the sales team closing successful sales, delivering excellent customer service, customer care and curating client relationships while representing the brand.

The Assistant Manager will also be trained as a Spark Technician - being able to take appointments for our permanent bracelets. Must be comfortable with basic jewelry assembly and fine tools.

Working closely with the Retail Manager, this position is instrumental in helping to maintain the brand’s allure through in-person customer experiences. As the face of LAJ, they should provide the best quality of customer service to each and every individual. The ideal candidate must work well under pressure, handle management of employees when the Retail Manager is unavailable, deliver pristine shopping experiences to our visitors, and also complete daily tasks at the store.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledgeable in high-quality jewelry, metals, and gemstones and know the guidelines for welding with our permanent jewelry.
• Minimum 1 years of experience in a fast-paced retail environment
• Minimum 1 year of experience managing or leading a small team and working with retail operations
• Experience with Shopify is an asset
• Excellent oral and written communication
• Outgoing and friendly personality
• Able to efficiently multitask
• Commitment to learn and grow as a professional
• Interest in jewelry, fashion and social media is considered an asset
• Experience with jewelry making and welding machine/permanent jewelry is considered an asset
• Creative, forward-thinking and self-motivated

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Lead the team in driving sales and delivering excellent customer service.
• Be able to assess the needs of the day and efficiently delegate tasks to team members.
• Manages day-to-day performance of the team, including all Spark Technicians and be able to clearly and concisely communicate the happenings to our management team.
• Engage in weekly check-ins with our Management Team.
• Manages and delegates the retail store’s general inbox – answering all incoming inquiries and knowing when to redirect or escalate matters to head office.
• Takes a case-by-case approach to responding to customer inquiries where necessary.
• Assesses customer inquiries with utmost care and consideration in order to prevent escalating customer interactions.
• Works with the Retail & Operations Manager to conduct periodic inventory counts.

* This position is full-time, and must have weekend availability.
