Fashion Jobs – Job Seeker Tips

I’ve learned a lot over my years in the fashion industry. Here are some of my tips to help you get the career you want!

•Find yourself a mentor. They can really help with your career!

•If you really want something, don’t give up. Make it happen. Did you know I once applied for an internship 3 x’s before I finally got it?

•Did you know, most companies want you to work on the sales floor before you can be a buyer or designer? Know the product & customer wants! My first job in fashion was as a Part Time Sales Associate! Get retail experience under your belt.

•Even if you don’t like the task you’ve been asked to do, do it like you love it and give 100%. This is how you show your work ethic.

•You should always ask the interviewer at least 1 question during an interview. Bonus points!

•Don’t forget to smile a lot and keep eye contact during your interview!

•Send your interviewer a thank you email that same day saying how nice it was to meet them and for taking the time to meet you.

•How are you standing out when applying? Remember, first impressions start when you send in your resume.

•Want the job? Your chances of getting an interview goes way up if you add a personal message. Don’t JUST send your resume. Stand out! Here’s how:”Seeking a position in the fashion industry” is not catered enough to the job you’re applying to! Please remember to put in the extra effort. How to cater   –>”With my skills, I’m excited to contribute to Style Nine to Five’s success and continue to make it THE fashion career site.”
