Well fashionistas, we’re happy to announce that it officially feels like spring! And if the warmer weather isn’t something to be happy about, the season’s biggest trends most certainly are. While some of these trends are bold and daring, this post will show you how to incorporate them into your office wear so you can make a statement for all the right reasons.
Gingham
This is a feminine trend will be seeing everywhere come summer.
To get away with wearing it to the office, try pairing a gingham coat with a wide black belt. Going for après work cocktails with your coworkers? Add a bit of an edge and wear it off the shoulders and pair with a bright bag.
Deconstructed Classics
While we’ve seen raw hems and deconstructed jeans everywhere these past few months, this season is all about the deconstructed, edgy shirts. Designers have revamped the button-down by shifting collars, altering sleeves, and taking classic silhouette to an almost unrecognizable territory. This spring, add some quirkiness to your workwear by swapping out your basic blouse for an interesting take on an old classic.
Oversized Blazer
One trend we’re happy to see back in rotation is the ‘80s inspired oversized blazer. We love this trend because it’s extremely versatile and can be worn to work and styled with your favourite workwear staples, but also worn over a faux leather skirt or an LBD and stiletto heels for a night on the town. This season, try this smart but casual trend, by layering an oversized blazer over a white blouse or t-shirt. If you’re planning on going out for drinks after a long workday, vamp up your look with a bold lip and pointed heels.
Micro Bags
If one thing’s for certain, street style stars have dubbed the micro bag as the ‘it’ bag of the season. Our favourite trendsetters like Olivia Palermo and Aimee Song can be seen rocking these cute micro bags, and while they can’t necessarily fit a laptop let alone any other workday essential, we have to say, micro bags are here to stay.
Bold Seasonal Prints
From graphic, oversized, and running in every other direction, this seasons prints are breaking all the rules. While your first instinct is to keep your dress code safe, we fully encourage incorporating a variety of seasonal prints into your traditional work wear.
If you work in a more casual office environment, you can afford to play around with bigger and bolder prints. If you’re not able to do that, then stick with subtle colours and oversized oxfords.
