Fashion Jobs – Blue Jean Baby: Denim Dresses for the Office

Times, they are a-changing. Once relegated to casual Fridays, denim in many cases has become more acceptable in offices and other workplaces and as a result, there are tons of diverse ways to wear it. Denim button-downs have been a staple for a few years now, but the spring runways (notably Gucci and Stella McCartney) have seen an onslaught of denim dresses that would work well for both the summer and fall months. As you may recall from a recentblog post discussing denim pinafore dresses, you can easily mix any given denim piece with other fabrics and textures to create a variety of different looks and moods. A looser, streamlined denim dress can look surprisingly sleek on its own, and a more frayed style will give you a gritty, urban feel – a far cry from the Canadian tuxedo. Almost as famous as the relationship itself, the world will never forget the denim gown Britney Spears wore in 2000 when she and Justin Timberlake first publicly acknowledged their rumoured romance. With any luck, your own denim dress will be just as memorable.
