Outfit from Vancouver boutique Mine & Yours: Marc by Marc Jacobs dress $175, McQ by Alexander McQueen tote bag $145, Miu Miu shoes.
While everyone has their own unique style, sometimes, it’s nice to venture outside of our comfort zones and try something a little different. For this week’s work-wear look, I embraced that very idea by making this loose fit, hot pink dress the focal point of my outfit. I love the faux collar, pleating details, and the combination of hot pink and navy blue. Since the dress is already so vibrant, I stuck to a black palette for the rest of my outfit, opting for opaque tights and some patent leather to add another visual element.
As the dress is quite feminine, I thought that a pair of Mary-Jane style heels would be the perfect addition to the outfit. Complementing the patent heels, I opted for a large tote bag (the kind that can fit just about all of my office necessities and then some!) to finish up my look. While my ensemble is certainly office appropriate from a silhouette and coverage stand-point, it is still probably more suitable for a creative work environment due to the bold colour choice. Remember, you can have a lot of fun dressing up for the office, but be sure to get to know your company’s accepted aesthetic first!
