If the British invasion wasn’t already true enough, the world of high profile supermodels has now entered and fallen in love with the cheeky and charming trend of British folks. One of these models to blame for is 23 year old fashion model, Jourdan Dunn. Starting at a young age of 16, Dunn was discovered at a local Primark in 2006 and later signed to Storm Model Management, which holds some of the leading models in the industry, including Kate Moss. It was in 2008 when Jourdan made her model breakthrough and became the first black model to walk the Prada runway in over a decade since Naomi Campbell in 1997. With her rise to success, Dunn had not only opened up the market, but also drew attention to the lack of black models in the fashion industry.
If that hasn’t already sold you on Jourdan Dunn, there is one thing that I guarantee will make you fall in love; her personality. It was when I stumbled upon her web series, Well Dunn with Jourdan Dunn on Jay-Z’s Life + Times channel when her upbeat and charismatic character won me completely over. She may not be a super chef like she is a model, but she’s fun, engaging, genuine and just simply lovable! Her web series also features fellow celebrities and friends such as Cara Delevingne, Karlie Kloss and Wale.
She’s cool, she’s chic and shows the world that their falsely preconceived and stereotypical ideas about high profile models are absolutely false! There is a reason why Jourdan Dunn is one of the hottest models on the runway right now and it’s not only because she can strut her stuff, but she can also show that she has a good time while doing it! So watch out because this is just the beginning for her!
