Vancouver Fashion Jobs – New Year, New Gear

How many times have you opened up your closet and said to yourself ‘I have nothing to wear!’ This age old saying to us fashion-hoarders seems natural to become sick of your clothes in an ever-evolving trend-centric industry. Start off 2013 not by going on a diet, but purging the closet and holding on to basic staples that you can incorporate into several seasons worth of wear. Start with 3 piles, the keep, toss and donate, the latter being of great importance. Just because it is no longer on your it-list, doesn’t mean others do not covet it. Keep essentials that last the test of time, including basics like a classic single-breasted blazer, your favorite pair of denim, v-neck tees, anything striped, and that custom motorcycle leather jacket. Toss items that you have worn with too many unwanted holes in them and items that are simply overused. Donate anything you bought on a whim, still with the tags on that your mother-in-law bought you two Christmas’ ago, or is just down right out of date. Consigning is a great way to go because you can turn your clothes into cash and use it wisely to re-stock your wardrobe for upcoming seasons. I recommend doing this each season. Spend less on trend items and invest in the key staples, recycle out older items each season and you’ll never be bored! Out with the old and in with the new you this New Year!
