Montreal Fashion Jobs – 70’s Are Here to Stay

You’d have to be living under a rock to have not noticed the fact that in terms of fashion, the 1970’s have come back with a vengeance. The most accessible style out of this resurgence of 70’s silhouettes are definitely flare pants. Depending on the fabric, flare pants are not only the most easily interpreted trend out of the 70’s revival, but they’re also the most functional in terms of transitioning from summer to fall. Here’s three easy ways to work them into your wardrobe:

1. Neutral tone-on-tone with bold colour accents

Elegant, chic, and yet still very sexy, a trouser and blouse combo in muted, neutral tones looks strong when paired with pops of colour. With a pair of high heels, soft curls, and lipstick, this look is perfect for a night out on the town. Think Bianca Jagger circaher Studio 54 era when you channel this ensemble.

2. Button-down blouse + flare jeans + Farrah-esque hair + sturdy heels = foolproof

Though this look can’t help but evoke a retro 70’s feel, it’s also thoroughly modern. Cinch at the waist with a belt and throw on some big sunglasses and you’re set. This is easily the most perfect day-look of the set.

3. For work, opt for a heavier fabric and pair with a light blouse.

When it comes to work, keep the pants conservative in weight and silhouette and have fun with your tops. This is the perfect time to add in some colour or pattern. Make sure that the whole look is pulled together with the addition of a work-appropriate yet fashionable belt, and since flare trousers conceal them, feel free to throw on your highest heels and gain a few inches. Nothing makes a woman look as leggy as a pair of well-cut flares and some high heels.
