Start 2011 off in style and make a point to visit some of the great exhibits currently on in the city. Here are my top three must-see exhibits that are worth bundling up and braving the chilly outdoors to see!
1. Fashion Stills at the Sofitel Golden Mile
This photo exhibit finishes its world-wide, year long tour at downtown Montreal’s Sofitel Hotel. Fashion Stills is a picture collection of some of Haute Couture’s most famed fashion houses (Dior, Chanel, Yves St-Laurent and more) as captured by some of fashion’s most legendary photographers. Sofitel (1155 Sherbrooke Street West), exhibit closes this month.

Yves St-Laurent and Carla Bruni by Jean-Marie Périer
2. Denis Gagnon at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts
This exhibit marks the first time that a Quebec couturier has been featured at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, and Mr. Gagnon is definitely deserving of this honour! 2010 was a great year for Denis Gagnon and it looks like 2011 will be just as busy as he has just announced the opening of a boutique in Old Montreal this spring. I can’t wait! Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, exhibit closes February 2011.
3. Jean Paul Gaultier for Roche Bobois
I admit this isn’t an exhibit per se, but Jean Paul Gaultier has teamed up with famed French furniture design store Roche Bobois and designed a collection, to commemorate Roche Bobois’ 50th anniversary, that is currently in stores. Roche Bobois (505, avenue Du President-Kennedy)
