ABOUT THE ROLE
Mine & Yours is seeking a creative and experienced Visual Merchandiser to elevate the in-store customer experience through exceptional visual storytelling and luxury merchandising. Working closely with the Store’s management and Marketing teams, the Contractor will be responsible for planning and executing compelling visual displays, seasonal campaigns, window installations, and product presentations that reflect the Mine & Yours brand while driving customer engagement and sales.
The ideal candidate has a strong eye for design, a deep understanding of luxury fashion and current trends, and the ability to translate brand direction into inspiring, commercially effective merchandising. They are highly organized, proactive, and thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, balancing creativity with operational excellence. This role requires someone who can work independently, adapt to changing business needs, and consistently maintain a polished, elevated shopping experience across all customer-facing areas of the store.
This is a contractor position with an estimated commitment of up to 20-25 hours per month, with scheduling based on business needs and project requirements. The work will be performed across our Davie St. and West 4th locations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Visual Merchandising & Store Presentation
• Plan and organize merchandising priorities in collaboration with the Store’s management and Marketing team, adjusting based on business needs and store activations.
• Execute and maintain visual merchandising displays, seasonal campaigns, promotions, and store activations according to brand standards and marketing calendars.
• Style mannequins, product displays, and feature presentations to create inspiring customer experiences. Share photos with Management to ensure visual standards are maintained and consistent.
•Implement appropriate props, display materials, and fixtures to support visual storytelling.
• Re-merchandise and refresh presentations as inventory sells through or new product arrives to maximize visual impact and sales opportunities.
• Ensure window displays, signage, fixtures, lighting, and display materials are maintained to brand standards and remain clean, functional, and visually impactful.
•Maintain strong visual consistency throughout all customer-facing areas of the store.
Product & Inventory Presentation
• Ensure merchandise is presented with excellent garment care and product handling standards.
• Rotate and refresh aged inventory within displays to improve visibility and sell-through.
• Provide feedback to the Store’s management team regarding stock allocation and merchandising opportunities.
Trend Research & Brand Awareness
• Stay informed on luxury fashion, resale trends, designers, brands, competitors, and consumer shopping behaviours.
• Incorporate seasonal trends, mood boards, styling concepts, and brand direction into merchandising decisions while maintaining the Mine & Yours aesthetic.
Store Standards
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe sales floor and back-of-house environment.
• Ensure all visual merchandising materials, fixtures, and equipment are well maintained and used sustainably where possible.
• Adhere to all Mine & Yours visual merchandising standards, policies, brand guidelines, and operational procedures.
WHO YOU ARE:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in visual merchandising in a retail environment, preferably within luxury, fashion, or premium lifestyle brands.
• Strong understanding of visual merchandising principles, styling techniques, product presentation, and best practices.
• Passion for luxury fashion, resale, sustainability, and current industry trends, with the ability to translate trends into compelling visual displays.
• Creative eye with a strong sense of aesthetics, balance, colour, and visual storytelling.
• Experience executing window displays, mannequin styling, seasonal campaigns, and in-store merchandising activations.
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills and the ability to independently prioritize workload and meet deadlines.
• Resourceful, proactive, and solution-oriented, with the ability to adapt quickly to changing business needs and inventory levels.
• Self-motivated and comfortable working independently while knowing when to seek alignment or direction.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Comfortable lifting, moving, and merchandising products, standing for extended periods, and completing physical merchandising tasks.
• Flexible availability to complete merchandising projects during retail operating hours, including occasional evenings, weekends, or store activations as required.
