Description

As the STORE MANAGER, your job is to lead by example. Store Manager is expected to continually train, motivate and mentor store staff, to consistently meet store Sales Goals, and to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. Your responsibilities include ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and maintaining the store to be a clean and safe environment for all. As part of the Management Team, you are expected to be professional at all times, confidential with sensitive matters and to always prioritize Turnabout’s best interests.

Customer Service
● Work on the Sales Floor to actively sell with the Sales Team
● Work with Managers, Assistant Managers and Buyers on coaching and training staff in both selling our stock and selling our consignment practices
● Provide excellent customer service at all times

Professional Development- Product Knowledge and Research
● Stay up-to-date on new and current trends in fashion and pricing through independent research using Internet, social media, magazines, as well as local businesses and community
● Share knowledge on popular brands and designer labels with the Sales Team on a regular basis
● Every season, go through sales floor stock with Buyer, analyze what’s selling, analyze feedback received throughout the season, update brands and pricing criteria with these considerations
● Check out the competition to ensure that our standards exceed theirs; take note of areas for
growth and improvement in order to develop and implement amelioration plans

Team Leadership
● Have a friendly approach, welcoming each staff member that enters the store
● Set the tone for the day during morning meetings. Go over any new promotions, changes to
policies, new exciting pieces that have come in, as well as communicating goals for the day
● Ensure team awareness of sales expectations on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
● Motivate and lead the Team by working with them to meet and exceed personal goals and
planned daily goals, and to maximize selling during low and high traffic times
● Understand and analyze sales figures, set realistic targets, and execute a plan to achieve the
sales goals as set out by the Leadership Team. Du
● Set a positive example to all employees through dedication and enthusiasm
● Ensure that Turnabout’s high level of customer service is maintained at all times
● Work with the team to expand the client base and our client services
● Check emails daily to ensure that responses are quick and appropriate

Team Development
● Work with the HR Manager on staffing needs
● Have regular meetings with individual Team members in order to help them grow and succeed at Turnabout
● Ensure that all staff members are adequately trained and kept updated on new/revised policies and procedures
● Lead the Team in a positive manner to create and maintain a welcoming environment for staff and customers
● Mentor and train staff to provide excellent customer service
● Ensure all staff members are trained in loss prevention
● Be accountable if negligence in company procedures leads to loss of Turnabout and/or
consignor property
● Be vigilant and aware to protect Turnabout from internal and external theft
● Delegate and supervise Team responsibilities
● Be familiar with all Code of Conduct Policies and expectations of professional conduct
● Ensure compliance by all Team members at all times
● Ensure all safety standards and WorkSafeBC requirements are being met consistently and
monthly WCB Required meetings are being held and documented.

Store Operations
● Create and communicate a daily plan for the store, in regards to zoning, breaks, security and loss prevention, at the beginning of each day
● Ensure there is a continual flow of new stock between consignment and the sales floor
● Ensure all items on the floor are in excellent condition, great in-demand styles and are priced accurately with enough information to justify item price
● Oversee that daily housekeeping duties are completed in a timely manner and that tasks are fairly distributed
● Work with Leadership Team to develop, implement and execute effective merchandising strategies
● Ensure that the Acting Manager and the Team know what is expected on Manager’s day off/vacation, including daily goals and processing merchandise for the sales floor
● Maintain competency in all areas of business, including but not limited to consignment, merchandising, sales and brand awareness
● Ensure that supplies are adequately stocked at all times
● Ensure that daily paperwork (opening and closing) is complete and correct
● Problems must be clearly marked
● Resolve paperwork problems and/or consult with senior management
● Manage petty cash and keep an accurate log of expenditures
● Supervise that all tasks are completed quickly and efficiently. Keep the team motivated on selling and on accomplishing all tasks at hand
● Keep store safety procedures in place, deal with any customer incidents by following proper procedure and sending a detailed report to management
● Regularly communicate with the Leadership Team and convey any questions and concerns as they arise

● Schedule and approve shifts for all managed team members in a timely manner
● Ensure that Bag Checks are completed at the end of the day.
