Style Nine to Five is Canada’s fashion industry job board and career resource site. We provide career advice, job listings, and career services to help individuals break into and thrive in the fashion industry. We’re now looking for a talented Social Media Specialist to help us take our amazing content and spread the word across social platforms.

Role Overview:

We’re looking for a creative and highly organized Contract Social Media Coordinator to work 10 hours a week, transforming our blog content into engaging social posts. The goal is to package our career advice, job listings, and career services into reels, Instagram posts, and LinkedIn updates to reach a wider audience. You’ll have the opportunity to shape how we present our content and ensure it reaches the right people.

Your week will also include video calls with our founder, Christie Lohr, who’s as passionate about empowering fashion professionals as she is about her morning coffee!

Key Responsibilities:

• Take existing blog content and turn it into engaging social media posts (reels, Instagram posts, LinkedIn updates)

• Create a consistent posting schedule across platforms to showcase career advice, job listings, and career services

• Work closely with the team to understand content goals and align social media efforts with our brand vision

• Ensure all content is optimized for each platform and engages our audience effectively

• Use creative storytelling and design to highlight key messages

• Create reels using video editing tools and ensure they are engaging and on-brand

• Design social media posts using Canva to create visually appealing content

 

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of experience in social media management or content creation, ideally in a related industry

• Strong knowledge of Instagram, LinkedIn, and other social platforms

• Proficiency in video editing for reels and short-form content creation

• Experience using Canva for designing social media posts

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects

• Passion for fashion, careers, and helping people succeed
