The Assistant Buyer, H Project (12 Month Contract) provides critical administrative and operational support to the Buyer, ensuring the accurate and timely execution of all buying processes. This role supports the achievement of sales volume, gross margin, and full-price sell-through targets through detailed analysis, process management, and consistent follow-through across vendors, stores, and internal teams.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, analytically strong, and passionate about sustainability, brand storytelling, and the luxury customer experience.
Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:
• Monitor sales and margin performance and flag variances against budget and forecast, including maintaining team and vendor sales reports
• Support with worksheet completion, purchase order creation, maintenance, and open-to-buy tracking, ensuring a high level of accuracy and timeliness
• Review vendor order confirmations to ensure alignment with purchase orders and agreed terms
• Conduct detailed purchase order follow up with vendors, resolving discrepancies and managing all related distribution, SKU, and system issues
• Maintain accurate records and ensure timely updates across all buying tools and systems
• Support forecast preparation and provide data inputs to the Buyer and Planner
• Assist in monthly and seasonal markdown preparation and execution
• Monitor stock levels and provide data-driven recommendations for reorders, RTVs, consolidations, and inventory actions
• Assist in preparation for pre-market analysis and seasonal business reviews
• Complete and revise store allocations for merchandise on order, ensuring accuracy and alignment with strategy
• Partner with stores on consolidations, RTVs, product and program launches, visual merchandising, brand storytelling and ongoing seasonal communication
• Support communication and coordination with vendors and internal partners to ensure timely execution of orders, deliveries, and issue resolution
• Maintain vendor communication for order follow up, delivery tracking, and discrepancy resolution
• Initiate and coordinate product knowledge sessions, in-store training, and contests in partnership with vendors and stores
• Produce and update seasonal product knowledge presentations and materials
• Support wider team with ongoing visual merchandising coordination needs
• Manage product ticketing, bilingual labeling, and hangtags
• Coordinate sample inventory, including tracking, organization, and returns
• Support the execution of special orders, trunk shows, events, and brand activations through administrative coordination and logistics management
• Prepare presentations, media kits, and supporting materials as required
• Complies with all Health & Safety policies and requirements
• Perform other duties, as assigned
The ideal candidate:
• Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years of retail and/or head office experience
• Sound knowledge of purchasing principles and practices / Retail Math
• Previous analysis experience is an asset, including use of system-based tools
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Strong execution skills with a focus on accuracy, timelines, and follow through
• Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative team player who is comfortable supporting multiple stakeholders
• Adaptable and comfortable working in a fast-paced, detail-driven environment
• Passionate about sustainability, fashion and luxury retailing
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

Hiring Range / Échelle salariale à l’embauche :
$52,000.00 - $62,000.00 / 52.000,00$ - 62.000,00$ (per year / par an)
Final compensation for this position will be determined based on the candidate's unique skills, expertise, individual qualifications, and assessed contributions to the role following the completion of the interview process. The range stated is the starting range for this position. Offers may vary with experience, qualifications, performance, and local market conditions.
