With more and more music festivals cropping up every week (or so it seems), “festival fashion” is growing in popularity. This neo-hippie, inspired-by-woodstock look is one I secretly love, even when it’s done totally over the top. So, naturally, when the trend brought back plazzo pants, I was beyond thrilled. All the chicness of a maxi skirt with the comfort of pants? Sign me up!
Here’s three different ways to test-drive the trend, faster than you can say “cochella”!
Festival Favorite:
Just like all the girls on Look Book or the celebs at Glastonbury, I love wearing boho-y plazzos with lace-y crop tops. It’s just so effortless feeling. And if there’s one absolute “in” look this summer, this is probably it. So take note, girl!! Oh, and the fact that this look goes from beach barbeque to mall in a minute? That’s just the icing on the cake.
Modern Mix:
If the whole flower-child thing isn’t for you, go for a bolder take on plazzos. Pick a pair with a rocking geometric print and pair them with a tough-looking mesh top- it’s the perfect mix between hip-hop, Miley Cyrus, and edge-y cool. Perfect for raves, parties, and being generally kick-butt: Wallflowers need not apply.
Glamour Girl:
If “casual” isn’t a word in your vocabulary, then consider dressing up a pair of plazzos with a sophisticated print. Try ones in a muted, grown-up shade like this soft green, and pair them with a cross-over top. It hits the perfect note between fitted and flow-y to look perfect with your pants! This look could do diner with the in-laws, drink after work, or even date night. Sometimes flowing silhouettes and hints of skin are the sweet spot between sexy and sophisticated!
