The rules of white are so outdated, never wear it after labour day (for how long though?) and don’t wear white during the winter time. Who made these up in the first place? Sure white clothing is synonymous with the summer time because it looks fantastic against tanned skin, but what about changing the rules and rocking them all year round? I vote that we incorporate this light shade into our wardrobes this winter and I’m not alone. Check out Derek Lam, Tommy Hillfiger or Proenza Schouler’s Fall/Winter 2013 runway collections as the models wore head to toe white.
Sure white skinnies could look a tad Jenny from the block sometimes, but swap them in for a pair of wool slacks matched with a chunky knit and you’ll stand out from the crowd of deep wines and plums. I know I’ve been incorporating white knits into my wardrobe this season, I feel like it adds a fresh, bright pop to an otherwise dull, gloomy day. Try it out and let us know how it goes, tweet me your winter white frocks @itsmelayan.
