It’s the most wonderful time of the year for fashion enthusiasts in Toronto, World MasterCard Fashion Week! As Canada’s leading fashion event, it’s the most exciting and hectic week for everyone. Whether you’re attending, volunteering or just like being fashionably updated, here are a few tips to help get you ready for the week and keep you on the top of the game!
This week, your phone is your best friend! The easiest way to keep yourself updated with the latest runway news and shows is to constantly check up on all the social media outlets. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, you name it! Get firsthand, backstage news when following official links and designers, as well as a spectator’s perspective when following tags and trends of attenders. Social media is the new wave and you can see it all unfold instantly on your phone! Another great way is to make use of your calendar, whether it be on a phone or a notebook. Keep track of all the runway show dates and times to make sure you don’t miss it.
If you’re lucky enough to be attending shows this week, it’s important to go out in style! When it comes to dressing for fashion week, there’s no manual or guidebook to help you, it’s all about expressing your own personal style and uniqueness. The best advice to give is to dress up a bit, be different and stand out! That’s all there is to it, there’s no right or wrong, just present yourself well with a smile and personality! Fashion week is a great way to meet fellow fashion enthusiasts, mingle and network! Crack out that business card of yours because you’ll never know who you’ll meet!
It may be a crazy week, but it’s a fun and great way to celebrate our local Canadian fashion designers. Whether you’ll be there or not, show your support this week for World MasterCard Fashion Week!
