We all know the feeling, counting down the days till bathing suit season; it’s both a good thing and a bad thing. We can’t wait to frolic in the sand with our friends like a scene out of a tampon commercial, but at the same time we don’t feel bikini ready. Lets face it, we don’t all have time to hit the gym five days a week, so instead of hiding your gorgeous curves, flaunt them in a bathing suit built to flatter your individual body type.
First we have the fruit shaped bodies, the apples and pears. Pear shaped women tend to have a curvier bottom half, whereas apple shapes have a wider mid section. The fruit shapes best friend is the tankini, not only does it elongate you but you get the benefit of a bikini and a one piece at the same time. Pear shapes women, steer clear of bottoms cut like shorts as they can cut you off in all the wrong place. Apple shapes go for a top with some rouching which will hide any unwanted curves.
If you have a tiny pouch that you can’t get rid of, take a que from the glamour girls of the 50s. Try going for a retro type suit, not only will it slim you down but you’ll be the trendiest girl on the beach.
If you have a short torso, try a suit with a deep v or any other elongated top. Something with a high collar will make you look way shorter than you really are.
For those of you with an Athletic body type, try going for a bust enhancing look, steer clear of bandeaus that could look completely unflattering.
No curves? No problem, pick a suit with ruffles or a front tie which give the illusion of curves.
