At Style Nine to Five, we’ve always been big proponents of dressing for success and empowering women to put their best foot forward in their career and life. That’s why when the opportunity to collaborate with Canadian organization Dress for Success came up, we were thrilled to help support their new program Success…is in the Bag, and to work alongside a non-profit’s whose values and mission align so strongly with ours. Dress for Success has been dedicated to providing disadvantaged women across Canada with a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help them thrive in the workplace and beyond.

Their new initiative Success…is in the Bag is encouraging Canadian women to donate a luxury handbag, until May 8, which will be auctioned off online at www.lovethatbag.ca

All proceeds raised will be dedicated towards helping low-income women in Canada achieve economic independence. The program will also lead up to International Women’s Day on March 8 to encourage others to get involved and donate.

Interested in donating a designer bag?

Contact canadianpartnerships@dressforsuccess.org to let them know you would like to donate a handbag and arrange a pick up.

The handbag will receive a professional market value appraisal. For handbags valued at $1,000 or more a charitable tax receipt will be issued to the donor*.

The donated designer handbag will be included in a lovethatbag.ca sale to support Dress for Success across Canada in May 2017.

*According to CRA guidelines the assessed value needs to be at least $1,000 to be eligible for a charitable tax receipt.

The Partners

Lovethatbag.ca: A pre-eminent Canadian online handbag consignment platform will provide professional appraisal, online platform, photography, storage and fulfillment. Once you have confirmed interest in donating your bag, Dress for Success will arrange for shipping to Love that Bag (located in Montreal) for appraisal, storage and photography.

Elle Canada & Elle Quebec: Canada’s leading fashion authority will promote the sales period of the initiative (Elle has selected Dress for Success Canada as their signature national charity)

The mission is to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and the development tools to help women thrive in work and life.

Dress for Success will arrange a charitable tax receipt, work with affiliates across Canada to reach out to supporters to help collect bags, and distribute net funds raised to Dress for Success across Canada

Through Dress for Success Canada the campaign will benefit all the Dress for Success organizations in Canada.
