Fashion Jobs – Break the Rules – Say Yay to Mixing Silver and Gold

Style Nine to Five - Fashion Jobs

Don’t mix stripes and polka dots, no white after Labor Day, and do not overdose on animal prints – these are obvious faux pas that shape the way we all plan our day-to-day outfits. But what about mixing metals? Personally, I never wore gold and silver at the same time because I always thought it was a fashion no-no. But as I got more comfortable with my style, I decided to shake things up a bit. If you still haven’t bit the bullet, here are some ways to incorporate silver and gold into your wardrobe!

Kate Spade New York Monterey bracelet watch, 38mm

Kate Spade New York: Monterey bracelet watch, 38mm – $366

A watch is an investment. No, it doesn’t have a ROI% (university finance classes sure come in handy), but you’re doing yourself and your wardrobe a huge favour. Having a silver and gold watch is versatile and easy to pair with any other piece of jewelry.

VivaLuxury’sOPI My Signature is DC Nail Polish

OPI: My Signature is DC Nail Polish – $10

Your nail colour can definitely make an entire look come together! I love pairing a polish with my rings and bracelets. Check out VivaLuxury’s gorgeous shots for some serious nail inspiration. And if you’re obsessed with her silver nails, OPI has you covered with their My Signature is “DC” lacquer.

Aska Asher Black & Gold Calf Ankle Boots

Aska: Asher Black & Gold Calf Ankle Boots – $350

Little black boots cover a lot of ground, so why not add a hint of gold into your everyday look? These Aska Asher boots are the perfect way to incorporate gold into your style and still have room for silvers and rose golds.

Anthropologie Shimmered Suede Booties

Anthropologie: Shimmered Suede Booties – $40

Anthropologie proves that mixing metals is not a fashion faux pas with these adorable shimmering suede booties with a gold zipper. Step into winter with these western meets rock-and-roll babies and you will never think twice about pairing gold and silver together.

Urban Outfitters Gold Mesh Hard Case Cross Body Bag

Urban Outfitters: Gold Mesh Hard Case Cross Body Bag – $59

I love how this little cross body bag is simple and goes with anything and everything, yet bold enough to complete an entire look. With its timeless shape and details, this is the perfect new addition to your bag collection (and it comes in silver as well!). On a side note, I love this entire outfit that includes this beautiful Kimchi Blue Glynda Beaded Trapeze Dress in ivory with the silver beaded sheer yoke details.
