Fashion Jobs Vancouver – The Oscars 2014: Best Dressed

ST95-ADS

My version of the Superbowl has finally come! The Oscars’ fashion never fails to leave me in awe year after year. All the greatest looks come out to play for the biggest red carpet of awards season, and you can always expect some unforgettable sartorial moments (who can forget Angelina’s right leg?).

Although the films are the focus of the night, fashion takes the cake for me! So who made Style Nine to Five’s best-dressed list for Oscar night?

Check out these must-see trendsetting looks below:

US-OSCARS-ARRIVALS

Cate Blanchett in Armani

Cate is the epitome of elegant, and she was simply stunning last night! The appliqués on her dress really popped off her porcelain skin, and made a neutral gown the star of the night.

86th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Charlize Theron in Dior

Charlize Theron does no wrong, and she chose another great dress for the end of awards season. The dress hugs her body perfectly, but the barely-there straps pull your eyes up to her statement necklace and make her standout.

86th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Lupita Nyong’o in Prada

“Nairobi Blue” may have just given radian orchid a run for its money as the new colour of the year! Lupita wears bright colours so well, but the headband and statement earrings complete the look.

86th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Kate Hudson in Versace

The cape returns! (Who remembers Gwyneth Paltrow’s amazing Tom Ford gown from the 2012 awards?) But this metallic gown just falls so beautifully on Kate, paired with her side swept hair and minimal jewels, this is my personal favourite of Oscar night!

US-OSCARS-ARRIVALS

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior

America’s sweetheart is a vision in red. This Dior gown may be simple, but the peplum detail gives some body to the outfit. And the cherry on top is the way she wore her necklace, draping it in the back. What a statement!

86th Annual Academy Awards - Arrivals

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen

Sandra Bullock can sometimes be a hit or miss on the red carpet, but this look is one of her best this awards’ season. This velvet navy gown hugs her body beautifully and the subtle details paired with her hair and simple jewellery pulls the look together effortlessly.
