Mixing and matching prints is one of 2014’s hottest trends, it’s also one of the hardest to pull off. It may be a daring risk to take but when it’s done well it makes an impressive impact. It doesn’t have to be as difficult as some may think however, here are a few simple guidelines to help you master the mix and match.
If you’re just starting out, start simple; pair a busy print with a neutral one. Think bright colours or jewel tone polka dots with black and white polka dots. An easy rule of thumb to abide by is pairing prints from a similar colour group. You can also pick one colour from the print and match that. Another fool-proof rule is wearing the same print just on different scales.
By keeping your silhouette simple, it keeps the look stream-lined and clean.
