When we hear the term “winter blues” our mind instantly wanders to dark snowy days, cold weather and cabin fever, but this year the term has taken on a whole new meaning. With various designers using the hue in their Fall/Winter 2014 collections, blue (more specifically cobalt) has quickly become the colour of the season, the year even as it has been featured in various different Spring/Summer shows as well. With its electrifying presence, a splash of cobalt can turn any drab outfit into a fashion forward look. The colour was featured in over 29 different runway shows including Jenny Packham, Jason Wu and Diane Von Furtsenbrug just to name a few. Draw inspiration from these designers and throw an electric blast of the colour of the year into your wardrobe.
