Toronto Fashion Jobs – Fall 2013 Menswear Trends

Over the summer, I wrote a post about menswear and the vibrant colours and patterns that were dominating the runway. This season, I’m singing a different song as menswear took a turn for the subtle. Honestly, I feel like all the guys I know would be more likely to wear some of this seasons trends over the neon hues of summer. One trend that I know all Canadian guys will be rejoicing over is plaid. Inspired by the Saint Laurent and Givenchy F/W lines, this laid back pattern can be found on everything from apparel to accessories. From there we move onto one of my favorite colours of the season mixed with a classic pattern; camouflage. Army green is synonymous with camo clothing and this season, these two have been seen everywhere. Looking for a wilder pattern? Try animal print. Yes I know it’s odd to see this loud pattern in a post about menswear but if the Burberry Prorsum F/W mens line taught us anything, its that this print is now gender neutral. The final major menswear trend for this season is deep, dark colours like burgundy and plum. Dark colours are always flattering, and the changing of the seasons is the best excuse to fill your wardrobe with rich, wine colours.
