As the famous Louboutin exhibit at the Design Exchange has come to an end, the museum will open its doors to another famous fashion house – Hermès. The travelling exhibition Festival des Métiers, which touched down in other cities such as London, will be coming to Toronto next month from October 2nd to the 6th. The early days of Hermès surrounded the world of harness and saddle-making with Parisian founder, Thierry Hermès, back in 1837. Now, the family company has extended its craftsmanship developing a reputation for designing one of the most famous and elegant handbags such as the Birkin.
The Festival des Métiers will feature a behind-the-scenes demonstration at the DX where renowned masters from the Hermès workshop will illustrate their ever so talented methods. Viewers will get to see how these artisans use the special techniques that have been passed down from generation to generation.
