Toronto Fashion Jobs – Graduate in Style

Graduation is a special milestone in any student’s life, therefore it’s important to look and feel your best for the big day. Although a bulky robe might cover all during the ceremony, what you wear underneath matters too! Remember that you might not have time to change in between the ceremony and after-graduation festivities. You’ll want to wear something that’s conservative, yet still cute and stylish for the dozens of photos that you will inevitably take with your family, friends, classmates and teachers. Since it is likely to be hot outside (and under your robe) a sleeveless and lightweight sundress in a pastel colour or floral print is the perfect choice for the occasion. Keep in mind that your graduation robe will add a lot of volume on its own, so its important to stay away from big ruffles or full skirts!

As your shoes are the only part of your outfit that will be visible beneath your robe, they should be somewhat dressy (yet still comfortable enough to stand and walk in). A pair of stylish wedges or 2-3 inch heels are much more practical than sky-high stilettos. In terms of jewellery, try to avoid wearing anything that “jingles” around, as you will probably be hugging, waving, and shaking hands for most of the day. An elegant statement necklace, cocktail ring, and pearl or diamond studded earrings can help tie your look together in a polished and ladylike way. If your graduation festivities are outdoors, you might want to bring along a pair of your favorite sunglasses just in case!
