With all the craziness that comes with the holidays, I completely forgot to buy something to wear on New Year’s Eve. As I rummaged through my closet for something glamorous enough to greet the New Year in, I stumbled upon a sequin body con dress and thought to myself that this would be my last opportunity to wear it seeing as nobody ever wears sequins after the holidays.
I couldn’t help but wonder about this unwritten rule. Is it the same as never wearing white after Labor Day? Or is it because we’re all simply tired of the glitz and glam of the holidays? I’m sure many designers have come to the same realization seeing as cozy wool sweaters and accessories sprinkled with a dash of sparkle are popping up all over the place. I myself have purchased a couple of sparkly sweaters and I absolutely love the extra special effect it gives to any ordinary outfit.
