Toronto Fashion Jobs – The Fashionable Mr. Ford

Over the past decade Tom Ford has been at the top of his prime, designing for both Yves Saint Laurent, as well as his personal collection, and then retiring from fashion to direct movies and become a photographer. Now finally, after several years hiatus, Mr. Ford, who is known for his ultra-seductive, carefully detailed creations is making a strong comeback with his highly anticipated Spring/Summer 2012 ready-to-wear collection – complete with footwear, and the unveiling of his new limited edition spring 2012 Metallic Beauty Collection.

Why do we love Tom Ford? He’s handsome, charming, extremely talented and purely original. With a clean slate he is setting out inspired by the old days of haute couture when designers like Coco Chanel would hold private showings in her Atelier. Having placed a ban on instant exposure at his shows: no tweeting, no cell-phone pictures, and only a small gathering of press and buyers, he gains exclusivity and keeps the focus on the fashion.

A favorite among celebrities, Ford designs with a classic, yet sensual aesthetic in mind. He creates ‘forever’ pieces that will stay in a woman’s wardrobe and showcase her femininity. For this season, the designer endorses fitted silhouettes, leather jackets, fringes, over-the-top feather trims, luxurious tones, reptile, and Spanish influences like the color red and peasant blouses with revealing necklines. Be sure to check out the latest – we dare you to resist Mr. Ford, or his brilliant collections.
