Toronto Fashion Jobs – Fall’s ‘It’ Shoes

Footwear fetishes can be rewarding, yes. We all know that a great shoe is the secret to any great outfit. But, with heels as tall as six inches high making the transition into daywear, a love of fine footwear can also be extremely painful. This season, fashion’s fiercest cobblers are taking a different approach – killer shoes that look like pieces of modern art, and are comfortable too! Ladies, meet this season’s latest block shoes.

The Lady Gaga-inspired wedge invaded fall runways – promising a wedge with a unified cement block mother monster would be proud of. Look for them in animal and tribal prints, in suede, as well as in somber colors like grey, brown, army green, and black. For a bolder block, try the floral, sequin, peep-toe or lace-up options.

2. Giuseppe Zanotti, $700. Available at zappos.com

3. Aldo “Calcagni” wedge in Midnight Black, $100
4. Steve Madden “Wicked-S” wedge in Gold Snake, $149.95

And for fall’s lady like heel? Look to the lego like block platforms of the moment. With clean lines, lots of color, intricatearchitectural designs at the front, and heels resembling chunky lego towers, these creations are comfy enough for any high-heeled race. Not to mention how cool you’ll look wearing them.

Aperlai’s Alessandra Guerra has been dedicated to cuteness and comfort since launching the label in 2009. If her fall block heels were buildings, they would surely be luxurious downtown condominiums, with sky high views and really great colour schemes.
