Back in the 1980s, velvet was a widely used material that helped to define the fashion of the decade. However, at the end of the ‘80s, velvet fell out of fashion and most people wouldn’t have been caught dead in the fabric. This fall, velvet is having an epic comeback, and it is now cool to wear it again.

This season, velvet is being seen in many different articles of clothing. It is being used in dresses, pants and even tops. Since it is such a distinct material, it is best to keep all other pieces simple. Most velvet also comes in a dark palette. The dark colours are perfect for fall and they also help to tame down the look of crushed velvet. This is an easy material to wear in many different settings and it can transfer easily from hanging out with friends, to a night on the town.

Although you may need to evoke your inner ‘80s girl in order to rock this look, the pieces are so cute and versatile that you won’t regret diving deep into your fashion past.
