a day in the life of a Senior Technical Developer

Reporting to the Product Development Manager, the Senior technical developer is responsible and accountable for creating and commercializing premium performance product, ensuring excellent fit, functionality, while delivering the high-quality standards our guest expects

· Fundamentally understand the product life cycle and able to navigate shifting priorities according to business needs with minimal direction

· Responsible for the development of assigned styles to meet 100% buy ready for commercialization

· Drive the GTM calendar management to hit KPI’s with cross-functional team members, attend fit sessions and enroll cross functional team members in aligning on style and construction goals

· Partner with Design to manage tech packs, bill of materials, styling, construction and size information for new products while maintaining fit standards

· Understanding of cost engineering; striving for best cost, best product while meeting seasonal and style IMU targets

· Manage workload as well as direct reports (where applicable) to ensure all deliverables are met

· Research fit trends, new construction methods, and emerging technologies for product category in collaboration with cross functional partners

· Create innovation briefs, enrolling team members on proven concepts and provide training as needed

· Nurture and develop existing and new relationships with internal and external partners

· Recognize opportunities for process improvements and offer new ways of working for better efficiency

· Partner with sustainability team driving towards product sustainability targets

8-10 years of apparel industry experience in Technical Design and product development (exposure to both domestic and import production)

· Strong technical acumen and confidence in commercializing a variety of products

· 3-5 years experience developing woven garments; exposure to tailoring an asset

· 3-5 years experience developing knit garments; exposure to active wear and asset

· Ability to evaluate fit problems on live models and advanced understanding of pattern corrections

Highly technical proficiency and attention to detail when developing performance product and body sizing

Ability to cost engineer garments to hit target margins and comfortable driving cost conversations with cross functional team members

Advanced computer skills including Illustrator, Microsoft Office, CAD - Gerber, PLM software

· Experience in 3D software an asset
