Job Description

Product Development Team

To oversee the creation and commercialization of premium performance product ensuring it is performing for the intended end use and is meeting the required quality standards through lab and wear-testing in accordance with lululemon business goals.

a day in the life of an Senior Product Developer

• Oversee development of equipment, including but not limited to yoga mats, rollers, bottles.

• Mentor junior team members during fittings; leading by example to drive conversations forward and gaining cross functional alignment

• Develop strong knowledge on costing, construction, and technology

• Connector between White Space innovation and mainline product teams

• Educate and add value to process improvements

• Own special projects and prepare for commercialization; finalize & roll out to greater team

• Mentor development team by sharing & maximizing best practices, new methods, concepts & functional expertise

• Collaborate with all cross-functional partners

• Maintain 100% buy ready product through seasonal readiness and risk assessment management

• Nurture & develop existing & new relationships both with internal & external partners

 

The Finer Print:

• bachelors degree required

• 8+ years industry experience in product development and innovation

• 1+ years people management experience

• Knowledgeable in hard goods manufacturing & materials such as rubber, PU, metal, plastic, EVA

• Experience in 3D software

• Passionate about product and innovating the fit and function of premium performance products

• Previously travelled and worked onsite with manufacturers across Asia, Americas, and Europe

• Extensive technical knowledge for product and function; specifically in performance product and function

• Ability to manage special projects alongside mainline product and deadlines

• Expert in building BOMs, production friendly construction details and technical package creation

• Detailed understanding of product creation calendar and work under tight deadline

• Extensive computer skills, not limited only to, but including Excel & all Microsoft Office applications, Adobe Illustrator, PLM software
