The Licensed Markets team supports the product needs of our franchise locations across the globe. This team creates and executes transformative global product strategies that ensure we have the right assortment in the right place at the right time to fulfill our guests’ unmet needs to deepen guest relationships, grow our brand and deliver on our long-term enterprise goals. We possess a deep awareness and intuition of the global marketplace dynamics and regional guest needs and use this knowledge to support our licensed markets in identifying business opportunities to maximize guest demand.

 

A day in the life:

Reporting to the VP, Global Planning, the Product Manager is the product representative for the brand and is responsible for supporting licensed markets partners with all things product. This is inclusive of assortment planning, product & inventory management, and being a liaison to our licensed market partners to support their regional market needs. The Product Manager is an analytical thinker who can balance foresight, insight, and hindsight to draw critical business conclusions and work closely with licensed market partners throughout the product lifecycle for in-season execution and management of their region through business analysis and corresponding actions. The Product Manager possesses deep product expertise and experience and is recognized as a subject matter expert to our licensed market partners.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and manage a compelling product assortment for licensed market partners that integrates strategic vision, brand consistency and regional market needs, to meet or exceed financial objectives.
  • Manage the seasonal buy for licensed markets from global line presentation through PO management and product deliveries.
  • Responsible for the data integrity and accuracy of the licensed markets line plan and seasonal buys. Partner with global teams to validate the buy accuracy for your channels and resolve any issues to ensure assortment is buy ready.
  • Be the point of contact between licensed markets teams and cross-functional departments within the brand.
  • Manage all communications between licensed markets and the brand regarding in-season product requests, including pricing/markdowns, re-orders, cancellations or additions to the seasonal offer and all relevant delivery information.
  • Oversee the efficient and accurate flow of merchandise to licensed markets. Communicate any changes to targeted in-store dates, assortment strategy and recommendations.
  • In partnership with Planning, support on-going OTB conversations with licensed markets teams.
  • With licensed markets teams, review business on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis, providing feedback and actions based on business need.
  • With licensed markets teams, identify & share regional insights (guest, product, market trends) to help inform global product strategies & regional style needs.
  • Actively engage in a variety of projects, ad-hoc reporting depending on business needs. Exhibits the initiative to look beyond the everyday business to seek out opportunities to maximize business potential.
  • Provide support & mentorship to junior team members.

 

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in a related field is required.
  • 5 years of Merchandising or Buying experience is required.
  • Vertical retail experience required. Omni channel experience highly desirable.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Programs with a mastery in excel. Proficiency in PO and Price Management software and is not dependent on others for system-related tasks.
  • Mastery in analytical skills with the ability to interpret multiple data points across numerous channels and market segments.
  • Mastery of retail mathematics, including elements of markup, margin, planning, open to buy and inventory productivity.
  • Ability to balance analytical and creative tasks.
  • Proven ability to work with and lead a cross-functional team.
  • Excellent communication skills – interpersonal, written, and verbal.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously; Self-starter approach to work, with an eagerness to consistently meet and exceed objectives and take on additional responsibility.
  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international) and work on the retail floor.
