Description

As the ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER, your job is to work with the Store Manager to meet the Sales Goals by continually training, motivating and mentoring store staff, while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures. Your responsibilities include ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction by providing excellent customer service and maintaining the store to be a clean and safe environment for all. As part of the Management Team, you are expected to be professional at all times, confidential with sensitive matters and to always prioritize Turnabout’s best interest first.

Customer Service
● Work on the Sales Floor selling with the sales team
● Work with Co. Store Manager on coaching and training staff in both selling our stock and selling our consignment practices
● Provide excellent customer service to every guest of our stores

In the Absence of Store Manager
● Have a friendly approach welcoming each staff member as they begin their shifts
● Set the tone for the day during morning meeting
● Go over any new promotions, changes to policies, new exciting pieces that have come in, as well as communicating general and sales goals for the day
● Ensure team awareness of sales expectations on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
● Motivate and lead the team by working with them to meet and exceed planned daily goals and to maximize selling at all times
● Ensure that Turnabout’s high level of customer service is maintained at all times
● Ensure that the priority of selling our service is stressed in all client interactions
● Set a positive example to all employees through dedication and enthusiasm

Product Knowledge and Research
● Stay up-to-date on new and existing trends through independent research using Internet, social media, magazines, as well as local businesses and community
● Share knowledge on popular brands and designer labels with the sales team on a regular basis
● Check out the competition to ensure that our standards exceed theirs; take note of areas for growth and improvement in order to develop and implement amelioration plans

Team Leadership
● Assist the Store Manager in ensuring that all staff members are adequately trained and kept updated on new/revised policies and procedures
● Lead the team in a positive manner to create and maintain a welcoming environment for staff and customers
● Work with the Store Manager to ensure all staff members are trained in loss prevention
● You will be held accountable if negligence in company procedures leads to loss of Turnabout and/or consignor property
● Make sure staff bag checks are being conducted whenever staff members leave premises
● Delegate and supervise team responsibilities in the absence of the Store Manager
● Be familiar with all Code of Conduct Policies and expectations of professional conduct- ensure compliance by all team members at all times
● Work with the Store Manager to ensure all safety standards and WorkSafeBC requirements are being met

Store Operations
In the presence of the Store Manager:
● Collaborate with the Store Manager to create a daily plan for the store, in regard to zoning, breaks, security and loss prevention

In the absence of the Store Manager:
● Communicate the daily plan and set break times with staff at the beginning of each day
● Make sure there is a consistent flow of new stock between consignment and the sales floor
● Ensure that all items on the floor are in excellent condition, great in-demand styles and are priced accurately with enough information that will justify price on item and make selling easier
● Oversee that daily housekeeping duties are completed in a timely manner and that tasks are fairly distributed
● Ensure that supplies are adequately stocked at all times
● Confirm that daily paperwork (opening and closing) is complete and correct- if applicable, problems must be clearly marked
● Resolve paperwork problems and/or consult with senior management; utilize computer resources for assistance
● Manage petty cash and keep an accurate log of expenditures
● Supervise that all tasks are completed quickly and efficiently
● Keep the team motivated on selling and on accomplishing all tasks at hand
● Keep store safety procedures in place, deal with any customer incidents by following proper procedure and sending a detailed report to management

Consignment Procedures (Once approved by Resale Manager)
● View client information- look up consignment accounts
● Schedule an appointment
● Have reasonable knowledge of our pricing procedures
● Process a drop off

Additional Assistant Store Manager duties as required.
