About the Planning & Allocation Team

The Merchandise Planning & Allocation teams play a critical role in partnering with many cross-functional departments to create and execute the merchandise plans (sales, margin, inventory) to drive the profitable performance of the business.

A day in the life:

You will lead the merchandise planning and allocation team to develop and execute the merchandise plans for one of the lululemon divisions and partner with the divisional VP of Merchandising in developing and executing the appropriate assortment strategy; developing key item strategies and supporting seasonal design intentions.

• Pre-season responsibilities include developing the divisional line plan for a global lululemon business, and developing and executing the seasonal assortment strategies and item buys for the North America region (all channels)
• In-Season responsibilities include managing the complete lifecycle of items within the business, from purchase through inbound order management, initial allocation, replenishment and markdown/exit.
• Complete monthly OTB (open to Buy) activities for the businesses, ultimately reporting back to the SVPs of Planning and Merchandising. Reading and re-trending the business to understand risks and opportunities
• Responsibility for developing the appropriate sales, margin and inventory plans for the business. This is at the item level and the category/department level.
• Ensure the cross-functional teams are reviewing the business drivers each week, to support the actions needed to manage risk and opportunity within each category, channel
• Constantly manage the inventory by item by channel to ensure that supply is best aligned with future demand, to optimize profitability for the categories
• Train and develop the planning teams on thought process and practice in analyzing and forecasting sales, margin and turn relative to plan, trend and history

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree preferred; advanced degree a plus. Will accept an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of post-secondary education
• Minimum of 7 years retail Planning & Allocation experience; with vertical specialty
• Minimum 5 or more years total management experience.
• Demonstrated retail experience
