A day in the life of the Vice President, Merchandising Strategy & Operations
The VP, Merchandising Strategy & Operations leads our product strategy, from the long-term roadmap to seasonal planning and execution. The role is the link to ensure our strategies and innovations are executed with excellence and deliver planned P&L objectives.

core accountabilities
• Build, maintain and own the long-term Product Roadmap, including the product strategy, assortment expansion / rationalization plans, product launches and distribution/seeding strategies
• Lead cross-functionally to ensure consistent execution of product strategies through seasonal line planning, assorting, buying, visual merchandising and marketing
• Guide setting of department and category targets, in partnership with Merchandise Planning & FP&A
• Partner with channels and regions to ensure long-term product needs are met
• Partner with Brand & Community to drive guest acquisition and conversion; represent Merchandising perspective in planning key volume-driving seasonal campaigns
• Lead department reporting and analytics strategy
• Drive accountability and visibility across Whitespace, Concept and Mainline to deliver innovation portfolio against Product Roadmap and seasonal strategies
• Partner with Planning and Sourcing to establish and improve long-term product and material forecasts
• Drive strategy development for key merchandising initiatives and monitor implementation
• Drive department talent and organization strategy; grow and develop talent to create future leaders

The Finer Print
• Master’s Degree in business required
• 7+ years’ experience in Merchandising, Planning and/or management consulting with a top-tier firm
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role
• Retail, apparel, or consumer products experience required
