Job Summary

The Vice President, Leadership & Functional Development reports directly to the Executive Vice President, People & Culture. As a champion of talent development, this role will lead all talent-related development activities including the design, development and delivery of learning and development solutions and leadership programs. An innovator and leader in their field, this role will bring new thinking to the areas of organizational development and learning, as well as contribute and lead the broader vision and strategy for people and culture at lululemon.

Core Accountabilities
• Define highest priority leadership skills and functional development efforts that align with deepening the talent bench, increasing employee engagement and delivering the business strategy.
• Partner with senior leaders to provide a framework to effectively address current and future talent needs, analyzing current workforce capabilities vs the skills and competencies that employees need to support current and future company objectives.
• Design and communicate a philosophy and strategic point-of-view for leadership development & training.
• Collaborate on succession planning process and provide career path management to engage, develop and retain top talent. Use processes to assess long term projections of talent gaps and leadership needs.
• Establish multi-year plans for the future progression of the leadership development & functional development teams.
• Prioritize efforts, effectively allocate resources and request additional resources as required.
• Integrate digital and technology in an intentional way to deliver programming and resources. Lead vendor selection and management as directed.
• Lead, coach and develop the team responsible for design, development and implementation of leadership development and training programs and processes.
• Continually bring innovation and new thinking to the leadership development & training function.
• Foster and champion a culture of development across the organization.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education
• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s or other post-graduate degree preferred
• Minimum ten years of progressive Human Resources, Talent Management, Organizational Development and Leadership Development experience
• Experience working in a management role for a global apparel company with proven project leadership
• Demonstrated experience developing and managing programs around learning and development, succession planning and career development
• Proven track record of leading and influencing; exceptional collaboration, relationship and consultative skills with demonstrated success building partnerships with internal and external contacts at all levels
• Ability to communicate and facilitate in a clear and compelling manner at all levels of the organization
• Strong business acumen with the ability to link Leadership Development & Training activities to key business initiatives
• Demonstrated experience with instructional design principles and development applications
