Job Description

Trim Developer

a day in the life
To search for, develop, test, and adopt raw materials seasonally. All components should consistently support the execution of on-time delivery of finished product and achieve company quality and profitability goals. All adoptions must support the strategic and operational initiatives in sync with lululemon global manufacturing strategy. Components must meet internal sustainability goals and government regulations along the International raw material supply chain. Ensures that supporting documentation regarding origin, makeup, end usage and verification of manufacturing claims are in place. Ensure understanding and compliance with Company and departmental policies/procedures and internal controls.

• 3-5+ years of apparel or textile industry experience.
• University degree required in a textile field
• Experience traveling and working with suppliers outside of North America, preferably Asia
• Strong knowledge on development techniques, (process / equipment etc.) for both fabrics and trims.
• Strong technical knowledge gained in retail / manufacturing environment covering all areas of textiles from fibres, yarn, material construction, finishes and printing.
• Strong knowledge of industry testing standards/test reports.
• Working knowledge of global, regional and country specific trade programs/regulations.
• Strong knowledge of x-functional team accountabilities and requirements preferred, including design, sourcing, merchandising and quality assurance.
• Working knowledge of the garment industry
• Knowledge of fabric development process
• Strong background in the sourcing and development of trims / findings, including trade show experience.
• Competent IT skills (Microsoft office applications and Outlook, familiarity with PLM software)
• Knowledge of mill processes, equipment, techniques, etc.
