Position Store Manager

Reports to Area Manager

Purpose

To motivate and inspire you team to achieve sales targets, promote high standards of service to customers and run efficient, well organized stores within set budgets.

To ensure that the team upholds the Ted Baker brand image, to deliver the company mission statement, and to act as an ambassador for the brand.

Roles, responsibilities and duties

As the Store Manager, you will supervise all employees within your store, your roles and responsibilities are as follows. Other duties may be assigned.

• Ensure the team maximizes sales potential by the correct use of all resources, team motivation and inspirational leadership.

• Deliver recruitment, training and motivation of your store team. Set clear objectives for performance and development. Adapt personal, interpersonal and managerial behavior to bring out the best in people and enhance the company brand values.

• Ensure store and staff are presented to the highest possible standards in line with band expectation. Be competent in product knowledge feedback regularly to Tedquarters on performance and opportunities.

• Reflect the values of the brand with integrity and respect for others. Be seen as truthful, fair and trustworthy and demonstrate enthusiasm and passion for the brand.

• Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner. Uses feedback to modify and develop alternative solutions. Demonstrate an innovative and creative approach to decision making.

• Be competent in knowledge of stores performance and have a keen awareness of local markets. Develop a network of local contact which will support Ted’s WANTED campaign and PRFS activities.

• Manage store systems/processes to support a sales environment and achieve operational guidelines. Ensure every task is completed accurately and in a timely fashion. Manage cost and fulfill expectation on

Profit and Loss.

• Protect the assets of the store and deliver company standard in security, health and safety and maintenance.

• Plan and prepare work schedules and assign employees to specific duties.

• Encourage team members to strive for achievement of targets set by Head of US Retail.

• Coordinates sales promotion activities and prepares, or directs workers preparing, merchandise displays and advertising copy.

• Ensures compliance of employees with established security, sales, and recordkeeping procedures and practices.

• Answers customer’s complaints or inquiries.

• Locks and secures store.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s
policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and
training employees; planning assigning, and directing work; appraising
performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience

Fifth year college or university program certificate; or two to four years relate experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
