Job Description

The Manager will lead category strategies, strategic sourcing events, and support category and supplier management activities for specific (sub)categories of direct spend across the business after alignment with cross-functional partners. This position is responsible for managing and delivering strong results that support the goals of the organization and provide significant value. The Manager reports to the Global Procurement Director with a strong connection to the Global Sourcing organization.

Core Accountabilities:

• Independently leading and/or supporting strategic sourcing events and supplier negotiations
• Analyzing spend data and other resources to identify savings opportunities and uncover additional insights
• Communicating with business unit leadership to highlight potential savings opportunities, understand the requirements of the business, and support decision-making
• Support supplier performance and relationships to ensure the organization’s expectations are met
• Conducting ongoing reviews of categories to inform future category strategies and activities
• Use strategic tools to inform category strategies
• Developing category strategies and sourcing approaches based on data insights and category knowledge
• Tracking performance of the procurement organization against established metrics and providing reporting to Company leadership
• Support validating projected savings from sourcing events and other sources
• Supporting creation and communication of standardized procurement policies and processes
• Managing and executing other procurement-related special projects as needed

Required Skills, Experience and Academic/Educational Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, SCMP or MBA preferred
• 5-7 years in procurement role with significant responsibility for selecting, negotiating, contracting and managing high spend/ high risk suppliers
• Proven industry experience in Raw Materials Development / Sourcing / purchasing for a global apparel company
• Strong ability to analyze complex data to develop unique insights and effectively communicate findings to others.
• Experience in creating and executing plans of action to accomplish organization goals.
• Ability to propose and execute new ideas and processes for improving the effectiveness of Procurement
• Demonstrable skill in the coaching and mentoring of individual team members across the Procurement team (which may include line management responsibility)
• International experience is a plus
• Excellent interpersonal, teambuilding, and facilitating skills
