We are a leading women’s boutique clothing brand with a 20 year heritage, based in the heart of downtown Vancouver, known for our timeless, fashion driven everyday apparel. We manufacture, ship, distribute and provide best in class customer service to over 500 independent stores in Canada and the USA and are quickly expanding. We are in search of an experienced Product Developer to join our close-knit team. The ideal product developer is attentive to quality, and has a creative and entrepreneurial mindset

• Responsible for product development and communication with manufacturers from design hand-off to production. This includes fitting SMS, revisions throughout the product development process, grading and final TOP approval
• Ensure products are engineered to cost standards and negotiate cost in line with margin expectations
• Responsible for executing consistent quality, testing and issuing the care/content label instructions to the manufacturer
• Manage the ordering of trims (labels, hangtags), generate UPC data and book stickers for all production orders
• Issue final POs and manage the production timeline and logistics with manufacturers
• Manage sample invoices and co-ordinate payments with vendors
• Build final line list for catalogue and website, ensuring all information is correct and up to date.
• Develop, manage and maintain vendor and manufacturer relationships to enhance our product portfolio

Additional experience, education and/or skills (required):

• 3+ years in product development
• Undergraduate Degree or equivalent industry training and experience
• Experience effectively communicating with domestic and offshore vendors and manufacturers
• Experience in product costing and negotiation
• Experience in technical design/fitting and communicating fit to vendors
• Strong knowledge of raw materials, technical construction and sourcing in the women’s lifestyle apparel category
• You are detailed and accuracy oriented with strong organizational skills

Additional experience, education and/or skills (assets):

•Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Abode Illustrator
•Experience in production manufacturing, merchandising and pattern making
•Fluent in a second language (Mandarin, Cantonese)
