The Position:

•Provide overall creative direction and vision for new product design development and execution strategy

•Manage product development teams including technical designers, creative designers and product developers

•Maintain clear and concise communication to meet all product deadlines and keep programs on track.

•Source new factories and foster effective working relationships

•Lead the creation of seasonal presentation boards highlighting themes, fabric, color, graphic and pattern direction

•Lead all design presentations

•Build the design concepts and assortment plan according to merchandise plans in collaboration with cross functional partners

•Oversee tech pack creation and the TNA calendar

•Develop the process and standards for vendor communication and ensure your team follows through

•Achieve timely development of line and sampling by ensuring internal and external partners adhere to time and action calendar.

•Develop design concepts to suit partners' needs while adhering to brand standards and design aesthetic

•Build strong relationships with business counterparts by developing understanding of business, industry trends and specific product cost factors.

Reporting to the CEO, you will You will:

•Develop and innovate fabrications, notions and adornments across multi product assortment

•Lead garment fittings

•Manage sample budget

•Ensure fit grades are on point with customer needs and brand

•Develop tracking system for style adoption rate and sampling score by vendor

•Stay abreast of retail and wholesale landscapes for trend and product opportunities.

•Keep product development teams and merchants updated in all communications. Consult with product team prior to sensitive vendor communications if cost, lead-time or minimum implications exist.

•Travels to trade shows and factories to observe new trends, materials and compliance.

•Mentor Design team and manage their growth plans

Qualifications and Experience:

•8+ Years of experience in design at a collection level; 5+ years in management capacity leading successful teams.

•Bachelor’s Degree in design or art preferred.

•Experience in Adobe Illustrator & Photoshop CS, MS Excel, and MS Office Suite

•Must have experience working with technical design and have strong understanding of raw materials, fabrics, textiles and overall garment silhouette construction
