Job Description: The Fit Technician’s responsibility is to ensure fit and quality are maintained from design to bulk production meeting company-wide standards.
Responsibilities:
Review seasonal merchandise plans with Designers and/or Director of Design to ensure quality and design esthetic is achieved.
Measure reference garments and note all sewing detail and/or special instruction on spec packs
Enter all measurements on initial specs and update any required measurement adjustments or revisions
Create construction specifications and marketing sheets for first spec then send to vendor for proto type.
Participate in fittings with Designers and/or Director of Design & fit model
Record and communicate fit comments from fittings, update technical spec packages then send out to vendors
Update all specs with required measurement adjustments at the Production approval stage, including detailed notes from fittings, from the designers and/or sales team feedback
Create and manage grade rules once fits are approved
Track and record all original samples sent out as references to vendors
Record all specs and comments sent out to vendors

Qualifications:
3-5 years of relevant experience
Thorough knowledge of industry standard garment construction techniques
Patternmaking background, an asset
Proficient knowledge of commercially available textiles and textile products
A person who is focused on deadlines, copes well with change, and enjoys a challenging environment
Ability to work in collaborative team environment, as well as work independently
Excellent organizational skills in order to respect deadlines
Strong written & verbal communication skills in English (Cantonese or Mandarin adds value)
Strong computer skills to include Illustrator, Microsoft Excel, and Outlook
