Basic Function:

The E-commerce Planner is responsible for forecasting sales and inventory, managing the Open-To-Buy and top line sales plans for E-commerce with direction from Merchandising and E-commerce Operations group. Working alongside cross-functional partners in Merchandising, Operations, Brand, Finance, and Sales, this position will manage pricing/promotion of the site and SKU management to achieve sales/gross margin goals. The E-commerce Planner will assist in pre-season buys and co-lead post-season hindsight. In addition, the E-commerce Planner will analyze monthly returns for any overarching trends and callouts.

Specific Duties:


- Analyze data sets to extract meaningful trends and themes for trend forecasting
- Forecast sales and inventory and build and manage an Open-to-buy to meet company sales goals
- Co-lead post-season hindsight with Merchandising to present key learnings on what worked, what didn’t work and recommend how to go forward to senior management
- Partner with Merchandising to develop pre-season assortment strategy with recommendations of areas of growth and decline from post season hindsight as well as current in-season selling trends
- Assist Merchandising in preseason buy with # of SKU recommendations at a size/colour level
- Manage in-season pricing/promotion and # SKU's on site in partnership with Merchandising
- Fulfill demand through to stock-to-sale analysis – understand regional/country differences and possible reverse seasonality
- Conduct rigorous size analysis on a regular basis to ensure size allocation is accurate to current trends for current inventory mix and pre-season buys
- Monitor in-season inventory at a colour/size level to maximize sales trends and sell through successes while minimizing markdowns and liabilities
- Negotiate in-season/pre-season inventory moves with wholesale partners if possible
- Send out weekly selling reports to Merchandising for best / worst sellers

Qualifications:


- 5+ years of E-commerce inventory planning experience (preferably in vertical environment)
- Bachelor’s Degree (6+ years of related work experience, may be used as a substitute for a degree)

Technical Abilities:


- Strong analytical and methodological skills
- Possess strong financial business planning acumen with a high level of understanding and experience with retail math and retail financial analysis
- Must have a proven track record in taking ownership, driving results and moving with speed to implement ideas in a fast-paced and ambiguous online environment
- Expert knowledge in Excel, including Macros, V-Lookups and Pivot Tables
- Proven ability to learn new processes, systems and programs easily
- Working knowledge of Google applications (Gmail, Calendar, Google Drive)
