Allbirds Shoes Opens Queen Street Pop-Up
San Francisco based Allbirds, which claims to be the world’s most comfortable shoes, has opened up a temporary retail space in Toronto’s fashionable “West Queen West” area. After launching their Canadian e-tail in March and hosting two pop-ups in Nordstrom in Vancouver and Toronto earlier this year, the new space is being used as a test to determine if the company’s next move will be to place permanent brick-and-mortar locations in Canada. Founded in 2014 by former professional soccer player Tim Brown and biotech engineer and renewable materials expert, Joey Zwillinger, Allbirds is formed on the philosophy of using natural materials, and an “ongoing mantra to create better things in a better way.”

 

Italian Fashion Exhibit Unveiled in Toronto
Yorkville Village is paying tribute to Italian Heritage Month with a new exhibit called “60 Years Made in Italy” portraying six decades of Italian fashion. You will find pieces from prestigious and staple Italian fashion houses such as Prada, Gucci, Fendi, Valentino, and Moschino. The exhibit is a stroll through Italian fashion history, curator Alessia Tota says, “The items that are on display come from various archival and private collections, making this exhibit truly one-of-a-kind”. Take a look through gowns (some very recognizable!), suits, jewellery and shoes from today until July 3rd.

 

Vancouver Welcomes First Jimmy Choo Standalone
Vancouver’s Alberni Street is joined by yet another luxury retailer as Jimmy Choo opens its first standalone in Greater Vancouver. The 1,549 square foot space is Canada’s second Jimmy Choo location, the first in Toronto’s Yorkdale Shopping Centre. Many designer stores have opened standalone locations in the downtown core in Vancouver in the last few years such as Off-White, Saint Laurent, and Moncler.

 

Serena Williams Launches Clothing Line
As if winning professional tennis matches and giving birth to a beautiful daughter weren’t accomplishments enough, Serena Williams is launching a fashion collection of sportswear and evening wear. The best part? Every piece is under $250! The collection includes denim, tees, dresses, jackets, and underwear with a sporty/sexy edge.
