Is the legend herself, Naomi Campbell retiring from runway?
After 32 years storming the runways, Campbell has hinted that she may be trading the catwalk for a cozy seat in the audience and let it be “carried on by the younger generation”. At the Fashion for Relief fashion show in Cannes last weekend, which helped to raise money for important causes like the Times Up legal defense fund and Save the Children charity, the supermodel stated she wasn’t sure how much longer she could walk. Naomi became the first black model to grace the cover of French Vogue, founded the Fashion for Relief charity, starred in a Michael Jackson video and was a favourite and friend of major designers such as Giannni Versace, Yves Saint Laurent and Azzedine Alaïa. She will be deservingly honoured next month with the Fashion Icon Award at the 2018 CFDAs. Retired or not (but we hope not yet), Naomi Campbell will remain a key icon in prominent fashion history.
