There’s a prevailing sense amongst those of us who are either seeking a career in fashion or who are already in the industry that there’s a certain way to dress as a “fashion person” – and with all due respect to Hillary Clinton, pantsuits don’t always make that list. One of the best things about working in fashion is the creativity and freedom it affords as far as dress codes go, but there’s nothing like a well-made, tailored suit to make you feel like an instant queen bitch. Black or grey will give you a femme fatale vibe, white will have that Elvira Hancock thing going for it, and a solid colour like red or royal blue suit will make you stand out more than anyone else in the office.
